What is MAG powered by Android TV™?
Android TV MAG set-top boxes are premium-class devices that support the following Google services:
- YouTube

The devices play 4K video at 60 fps. They support HDR and the HEVC codec.
A MAG Android TV device can be used to watch content online (IPTV/OTT services) or from external storage devices, such as hard or flash drives.

What is the difference between Android TV™ and AOSP?
Android TV devices are set-top boxes that are fully certified by Google. The company guarantees that such devices operate stably for at least three years. These set-top boxes receive regular operating system and security protocol updates.
The devices come with pre-installed licensed apps from Google. Users can access Google Play with over 7,000 apps and games.
AOSP set-top boxes are powered by the freeware Android OS. Their developers configure the firmware at their discretion, resulting in possible freezes and crashes.
Since AOSP firmware updates are also dependent on manufacturers, support for the device may discontinue at any time.

What is Google Assistant?
Google Assistant enables users to enjoy voice control, e.g., switch channels, adjust the volume, mute and unmute the sound, and search for information and content on the Internet.

What networking features does MAG offer?
The set-top boxes connect to the data network via a 100 Mbps Ethernet port. MAG500A devices, along with w3 modification, are equipped with built-in dual-band Wi-Fi adapters. For example, MAG520w3 can connect to wireless networks that operate at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. These bandwidths ensure data transfer speeds of up to 150 Mbps and 550 Mbps, respectively.

What are 4K and HEVC?
4K is a screen format that offers high-resolution video content (3,840 x 2,160 pixels). Such content will correctly play on TV sets with 4K screens.
HEVC is a codec for compressing and transferring high-resolution video data without compromising quality. It allows 4K content to be watched online even at slow Internet speeds (as low as 5 Mbps).

What is HDR?
HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a technology that allows for displaying more vibrant colors, darker shadows, and a more detailed picture.
You need a TV set that supports HDR to enjoy improved brightness, contrast, and colors.

Which peripherals do MAG set-top boxes support?
MAG set-top boxes connect to keyboards, mice, flash drives, and external hard drives via two USB ports (2.0 and 3.0).
Android TV MAG set-top boxes also have built-in Bluetooth 5.0 and can connect to peripherals that support wireless data transfer protocols.
