MAG524 is a Linux-powered IPTV STB with 4K and HEVC support
MAG524 is a high-performance STB that plays IPTV/OTT content. The device can play 4K video at 60 fps and supports HDR as well as all the modern codecs, including HEVC.
The Amlogic S905X2 chipset and the quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU enable the set-top box to perform at up to 18,400 DMIPS. The device offers 1 GB RAM and 4 GB internal storage.
Peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and external storage devices, can be connected to the device via the two USB ports (2.0 and 3.0). Online content can be accessed via a 100 Mbit/s Ethernet port.
The STB supports the Dolby Digital PlusTM eight-channel sound. Simply connect the device to a compatible audio system or TV set to enjoy it.

WHAT CONTENT SOURCES ARE THERE FOR VIEWING ON LINUX STBS?Connect to your Internet provider’s IPTV/OTT service or subscribe to an external operator that provides this service to watch video and listen to audio content. Also, you can load your M3U, M3U8, PLS, or CUE playlists to the STB, while their content will be loaded from the Internet automatically.
A server in your local network or external storage, such as a hard drive, are possible alternative content sources.

WHAT TVS CAN CONNECT TO LINUX STBS?MAG STBs are compatible with any TV that has an HDMI port. The devices can work with older TVs equipped with composite RCA connectors, but you will need an additional adapter to connect them.

How is the MAG524 different from its predecessor, MAG324?MAG524 has a more powerful CPU that lets it play 4K video. The new model’s internal storage is also eight times greater. The STB has an additional port that supports USB 3.0.
