MAG524w3: a 4K capable Linux set-top box with HEVC support
MAG524w3 is a fifth-generation IPTV STB manufactured by Infomir. It plays 4K HDR content at 60 fps. HEVC support enables the device to play high-quality video online even at slow Internet speeds.
The set-top box is powered by the Amlogic S905X2 chipset with the quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU that allows it to run at up to 18,400 DMIPS. The device offers 1 GB RAM and 4 GB internal storage.
MAG524w3 supports the eight-channel Dolby Digital PlusTM sound. Simply connect your set-top box to a compatible audio system or TV to enjoy surround sound.
The STB can be connected to the Interned via a 100 Mbit/s Ethernet port or built-in dual-band Wi-Fi module (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). The wireless connection provides data transfer speeds of up to 550 Mbit/s.
Content can be played from an external hard drive connected via one of the two USB ports (2.0 and 3.0). Peripherals such as keyboards or mice can also be connected via these ports.

WHAT CONTENT SOURCES ARE THERE FOR VIEWING ON LINUX STBS?Connect to your Internet provider’s IPTV/OTT service or subscribe to an external operator that provides this service to watch video and listen to audio content. Also, you can load your M3U, M3U8, PLS, or CUE playlists to the STB, while their content will be loaded from the Internet automatically.
A server in your local network or external storage, such as a hard drive, are possible alternative content sources.
